Guillaume Cornelis van Beverloo, kallad Corneille, anslöt sig 1948 till konstnärsgruppen COBRA i vilken exempelvis Asger Jorn ingick. Corneille är i sin konst influerad av Joan Miró samt Paul Klee. I målningar återkommer han ofta till motiv föreställande solen, kvinnor och fåglar som symboler för livet, längtan och kärleken.
